our story.
The idea for the company was born in India when founder and award-winning architect James Law saw people camp in pre-cast concrete structures on one of his building sites. This reminded him of his childhood growing up on the mountainside of Hong Kong’s shanty-town, where the rain would sound loudly on the corrugated roof of his father’s home.
After his India experience Architect James Law decided that he wanted to give back to the community and that he wanted to design solutions to help the people live with dignity and respect.
James contacted CEO Michele Tung in Canada, his friend for more than 15 years, and asked her to help him found a new company entirely focused on eradicating homelessness. He then asked another old friend Frank Christiaens to help with the fundraising and strategy. The founding team came together from different industries, but with the same sense of purpose and social justice.
