James Law JP, is an architect, technologist and entrepreneur. Renown for creating the philosophy of Cybertecture in which a better world is designed with technology to alleviate suffering for mankind, his company's projects cover buildings, spaces, technologies, education and social design.
James is a Justice of the Peace, Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum; a Council Member of World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Design & Innovation; Board Member of the Hong Kong Design Centre, Board Adviser of the Hong Kong Designers Association, and Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council Real Estate Advisory Board.
James is the founder of architecture, interior, technology design firm - James Law Cybertecture; laboratory for future research firm - Cybertecture X; design education institution - Cybertecture Academy, and charity - Cybertecture For Humanity Horatio Law Foundation. James and his companies are winners of multiple international awards including the FT Asian Innovation Award, Edison Award for Innovation, Design for Asia Award, HSBC World Architecture Award, and is the recipient of Asian Arab Award 2019.
James Law is the architect of the OPod Concrete Tube Housing designed to alleviate the affordability of housing around the world; The Pad Tower - the world's first Apple iPod inspired programmable building in Dubai; and the architecture for the futuristic high speed transportation system called The Hyperloop.
James received his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London and is a chartered architect of Royal Institute of British Architects, Architects Registration Board UK, Hong Kong Institute of Architects, Architects Registration Board Hong Kong and The American Institute of Architects.
Founder & President
Frank Christiaens is a technologist, investor and entrepreneur. His career spans 3 decades and 4 continents. Frank moved to Asia in 1996 bringing broadband internet technology at a time when internet was still very new for many of his later clients in Singapore, HK, Korea and China. Since then Frank has owned, invested in and operated various business across Europe, Asia, South and North America.
Frank is a Civil, Electro-Mechanical and Electronics Engineer. He studied at the Catholic University of Leuven and the Imperial College in London.
Executive Director - Asia
Charles Chu is Director of James Law Cybertecture. Charles has been working closely with James Law over the past 12 years, leading the team to execute a wide range of Architectural, Interior Design and Artwork projects, from conceptual design to project completion. Project locations include India, Middle East, USA, Russia, South Africa to China and Hong Kong. In 2017, Charles has been awarded the winner of “Perspectives: 40 Under 40 Award for Architecture”, recognizes the future leaders in Architecture. Charles received his undergraduate and post-graduate degree at City University of Hong Kong, with majors in Architectural Studies and Construction Project Management.
Executive Director - Western Canada
Previously Bruce Passmore was the Executive Director for the Canadian Parks and Wildlife Society, British Columbia (CPAWS-BC), the province's leading land and ocean conservation organization. Prior to CPAWS-BC, Bruce was the Executive Director for Leave Out Violence Society (LOVE) Vancouver, which supports youth affected by violence. Bruce sits on the Telus Vancouver Community Board and is an advisor for the Vancouver Foundation's Systems Change grants. Bruce has been a frequent election observer for the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), CANADEM, and regional NGOs, roles which have taken him to Ukraine and various countries in East Africa. Bruce holds a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Guelph and an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from Royal Roads University.
Previously Michele was CEO and founder for Mandarin Orange, a language education start-up in Canada; HALO Digital, a professional audio distributor in China, and a company distributing building materials in Australia. Before that Michele worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Shanghai and as an anchorwoman at Shanghai Media Group (SMG).
Michele holds a B.A. in Economics and an MBA from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC.
Director Business Development
Previously Fang Wei was a Business Development Consultant, and also held senior leadership roles in human resources with high-tech, non-profit, retail and manufacturing organizations. Fang has global business experience in Canada, the U.S. and China, and is also dedicated to helping local NGOs to deliver services to people in need.
Fang Wei holds an MBA from University of Toronto, an M.A. in Linguistics from York University and a B.A. in English.
Previously Steven held several senior executive positions at global performance materials businesses (Philips, Owens Corning and Nexans) across a range of industrial markets such as building materials, renewable energy, automotive, and telecommunication.
During his 30 year professional career, he held several board positions at multinational CSR initiatives and he currently lives in Toronto, Canada
Steven holds a MSc. in Bio-Engineering from the University of Ghent (BE) and and MBA from the University of Lille (FR)
Director of Sustainability
With close to 30 years of practical experience, Jonathan is a well-regarded ESG leader who positively transforms challenges facing clients in private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, leveraging collaboration and consultation to achieve success. A seasoned executive, Jonathan has developed and implemented strategic external relations and communications plans designed to attain mutually beneficial and impactful outcomes.
Jonathan focuses on driving innovative strategies to engage key stakeholders and drive advancement of organizational priorities. Previously, he led public affairs, sustainability, and environmental stewardship efforts in Canada for global corporations, Dow and Holcim.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Responsible Battery Coalition, and CORE Clean Tech Advisors.
Jonathan has a BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia.
